Adventures with Addison's
Jill Battle | APR 8, 2023

I am a mother of 3 adult children and I was diagnosed with PRIMARY ADDISON'S DISEASE in 2011 at the age of 35. Six years after my DAD died of an adrenal crisis from the same illness. He was only 56 years old. Spreading awareness and fighting this disease has become my passion.
Addison's disease is a RARE, LIFE-TREATENING auto-immune disease. My immune system destroyed the functioning of my adrenal glands on top of my kidneys, leaving me dependent every day on life-sustaining hormone replacements for cortisol and aldosterone.
I use an infusion pump 24 hours a day to continuously supply my body with cortisol. Without this, I would experience an adrenal crisis and die.
This BLOG is MY JOURNEY back to ME and the adventures I experienced GOOD and BAD living with Addison's Disease. I will not give in to this illness and KNOW I can live a full life.
Please check back to my BLOG often...I will be posting my personal experience as I rebuild my strength emotionally and physically. Life is full of adventures and ADDISON'S DISEASE is not going to hold me back.
