Jill's Adventures with Surgery

There is a reason I fight everyday to maintain my health as best as I can.
Monday I fell 10 minutes before recording an inspiring guest episode on the podcast.
I tripped. As I fell I was worried about re-injuring my back. I landed on my right shoulder and braced myself with my left wrist.
I was more concerned I broke a rib.
All was good until 7 hours later when a friend visited. He questioned the look of my left thumb and we discovered my thumb was dislocated.
No pain. I was not concerned. I was cautious with it but worked the next day.
After work a 5 hour ER visit with X-rays confirmed it was severely dislocated and required surgery.
The next two days were more hours logged in hospitals for assessment and surgery plans.
Friday I had surgery to put pins in my thumb. it is now weeks of healing and months of physiotherapy.
Being CHRONICALLY FIT means plans were in place for such situations.
Meals prepped. Hospital bags pre-packed. Advocates ready.
Surgery and Addison's is potentially a risk for a life threatening adrenal crisis.
